Self-conducted orchestra, collective of classical musicians founded by David Grimal in 2004.
We normally expect orchestra musicians to play under the baton of a maestro, however Les Dissonances, as an artistic collective, play without a conductor. The musicians meet for practice sessions in a casual context where each member is given the freedom to create their own role. Not only soloists, but also chamber and orchestra musicians and gifted students can develop together in a context that is meant to restore a dialogue between musicians and composers.
Freedom of the musicians in their will to play together, freedom in the choice of works performed, programmes and composers, free association with festivals and stages that share their vision of musical innovation and excellency.
Repertoire: Bartók, Beethoven, Bernstein, Brahms, Britten, Debussy, Dutilleux, Grisey, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Piazzolla, Schnittke, Schoenberg, Schubert, Shostakovitch, Vivaldi, Webern.
