Our Story:
LinkedInLocal began with a simple idea in May 2017, when Anna McAfee in Australia posted on LinkedIn asking if anyone in her local area wanted to meet for coffee. That humble post sparked a global movement that has now spread to hundreds of cities worldwide.
Along with the help of co-founders Alexandra Galviz, Erik Eklund, Swish Goswami, and Ryan Troll, a movement was born.
Fast forward 2 years, at its height before the pandemic, #LinkedinLocal touched the lives of over 300,000 humans, in 650+ cities, in 92 countries. Impressive, especially for a community of volunteers. It continues to thrive in many cities today under the LinkedInLocal terms (see the Learn More button).
The movement was built on the values of collaboration over competition, authenticity, diversity, and respect for one another.
From a single post the #LinkedInLocal hashtag has become a catalyst for professional community building, proving that the most powerful networks are built on genuine human connection.
LinkedInLocal transforms digital networking into meaningful face-to-face connections. We're a grassroots movement that brings LinkedIn's professional community offline through locally-organized meetups and networking events across the globe.
What started as one person's desire to connect has grown into a worldwide phenomenon.
