Lippy People is a video storytelling charity that collaborates with people and coaches them to affect positive personal and social change by supporting them to share their lived experiences, develop their video storytelling skills and share the learning they have taken from the challenges they have faced. Our purpose is about striving to do the right thing; our values are to ensure we do it in the right way. We believe that ‘values are the organisation’ which is why our values underpin everything we do. Our values are important to Lippy People because they break down hierarchies, silos and boundaries. Our values are: * Belief in the potential of others - We help people to recognise that all of their life experiences and achievements from their past, no matter how challenging, lay a learning foundation for what they can achieve in the future. * Compassion- We strive to listen without judgement and show humanity and genuine empathy towards others as they seek to affect positive change. *Collaboration- We believe in co-construction, co-design and the sharing of experiences and knowledge. * Creativity - Creativity is the beating heart of change-making. Creative change requires craft, passion, self-reflection, risk-taking, determination and a desire to learn by doing. Lippy People was founded in 2009 based on the understanding that video storytelling coaching has a positive impact on both the storyteller and the people who listen to them. Since the start of our journey we have helped hundreds of people to share their lived experiences and ideas with local, regional, national and international audiences. This has led people to share their experiences as diverse as social impact & enterprise, bereavement, economic well-being, health, education, regeneration, citizen voice, social and criminal justice, culture, community, diversity, young and older people… in fact, it’s almost easier to say what we haven’t made video stories about!
