That is why Lipscomb University's College of Leadership and Public Service exists. Our Mission:
"The College of Leadership and Public Service engages, equips, and empowers those who strive to serve the common good.
We seek to embody and share skills, principles, and practices of service, collaboration, intellectual rigor, informed inquiry, disruption, and bold action.
We live in the hope of contributing to beloved community by serving justice, diversity, civil discourse, sustainability, and the respectful and equitable inclusion and treatment of all."
Our roots are in conflict management and community service, and from that we believe collaboration is the path to creating common good around the corner or around the world. In fact, the college is itself a collaboration of four institutes and one school:
- The Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership
- The Fred D. Gray Institute for Law, Justice, Society
- The Institute for Sustainable Practices
- The Institute for Conflict Management
- School of Leadership and Public Service
These departments have been successfully engaging students and the community for almost a decade. We welcome high-energy, activist students who are highly motivated to not just be a participant in their world, but also agents of change.
