In 1992, Luminox was approached by the Assistant Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Officer for the Navy SEALs, Nick North, and asked to create a durable, water-resistant watch that could tell the time in total darkness. With Luminox’s unique Light Technology (LLT) that provides unmatched night visibility through a self-powered illumination system, they were the perfect partner. This was the genesis of the Luminox Navy SEAL watch and the beginning of a successful collaboration between Luminox and the Navy SEALs which continues to this day.
