Malecon wurde im Jahr 2000 in London, im Herzen des Musik Business, ins Leben gerufen. Im gleichen Jahr wurde die Niederlassung Freiburg mit Nähe zur Schweiz und Frankreich gergündet, wo sich heute auch das grosse Lager für Equipment rund um Rigging, Traversen, Ground Support und Lichttechnik befindet.
Geschäftsführer Thorsten Klein verfügt über einen Hintergrund als Fluggerätemechaniker und brachte bereits 15 Jahre Erfahrung auf Tourneen und internationalen Events mit, bevor er sich entschied, Malecon in der Hauptstadt Grossbritaniens zu gründen.
In den letzten Jahren wurden grosse Hallenproduktionen im Bereich Rigging durchgeführt und unterstützt. Aber auch regionale Events und Messen für kleinere Veranstalter wurden bestens unterstützt, so dass Malecon heute zu den wichtigen Playern der Branche zählt.
2018 wurde eine Niederlassung in der Schweiz gegründet. In den folgenden Jahren war diese für Großproduktionen in Zürich, Bern, Basel sowie schweizweit in Stadien zuständig.
Im Dezember wurde diese Niederlassung zur Malecon AG.
