MamaWise is an organization based in the MENA region that provides a safe space for parents to learn and connect during one of life’s most significant, familial transitions: having a child.
MamaWise offers data-driven informational resources and courses with demonstrable efficacy in support of families during the perinatal period, whether it is for their first or fourth child. In partnership with Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, MamaWise is currently piloting its Mothers and Babies program in Amman, Jordan. This course supplies concrete strategies to help mothers manage life’s stressors, regulate mood, and foster secure attachment with infants and young children while considering cultural norms and relevance. Given the circumstances, it also offers a Covid Primer focusing on maintaining support systems and mental health during the Coronavirus pandemic. We are currently cultivating other programs inclusive of the overall family unit.
Given our team's diverse background in international aid and development and developmental psychology, we are eager to integrate mental health services into global aid programming. In the next five years we aim to expand our services regionally across broader socio-demographics.
