In 1983, Bill Sage, a local Arkansas businessman invented the first electric shopping cart, the Martcart. He first built the cart to make life easier for his grandmother who had trouble getting around the store during family shopping trips.
Driven by our desire to help, we put “We Care” on every cart we built. Shoppers with limited mobility loved the newfound freedom it provided.
Caregivers were delighted to have a solution for their mobility challenged family members and the Martcart was a welcome solution for retailers.
