De Matthieu Wiegmanschool heeft gekozen voor onderwijs waarbij de ontwikkeling van het kind centraal staat.
Veel basisscholen zeggen het kind als vertrekpunt te nemen, maar durven zij dat ook in hun onderwijs maximaal waar te maken? Op de Matthieu Wiegmanschool hebben we dat gedaan.
Om de kinderen écht te zien, te volgen en uit te dagen in hun ontwikkeling, is een stevige pedagogische relatie van groot belang. Deze relatie en het welbevinden van de kinderen daarbinnen, is het vertrekpunt van ons onderwijs.
In de praktijk zien we dat het werkt. Kinderen volgen hun eigen leerlijn en ontplooien hun talenten vanuit plezier en betrokkenheid. Dat gaat samen met een professioneel leerlingvolgsysteem en onafhankelijke toetsing (DIA) waarmee gewaarborgd wordt dat we voldoen aan de landelijke normen.
Zijn we dan al waar we willen zijn? Voor een lerende organisatie zoals de Matthieu Wiegmanschool is dat geen relevante vraag. Er is altijd ruimte voor verbetering. Wij blijven dagelijks met elkaar en met de kinderen in gesprek om ons kindgerichte onderwijs te vervolmaken. We willen daarbij ook van harte de ouders uitnodigen om met ons mee te denken.
Onderwijs maken we samen, zeker op de Matthieu Wiegmanschool.
