Meer dan twintig jaar geleden – lang voor de notie van ‘de korte keten’ ingang vond – kochten we onze eerste Limousinrunderen. Om ze op onze landerijen in het poldergehucht Schoorbakke met de beste zorgen te omringen en te verwennen met voeders die we zelf telen.
De bedrijfsnaam Limousin Puur – later Meatier Puur – lag dus voor de hand. Puur stond voor onze eerlijke aanpak. Die aanpak blijft. Alleen opteren we nu om het vakmanschap van onze kwekers en medewerkers nog meer te beklemtonen. Daarom heten we voortaan kort en krachtig Meatier, waarin meat (vlees) en métier (vakmanschap) samenvloeien. Het is het métier van onze mensen die jou verzekeren van het beste vlees.
