She is a lot like her patients – coming from a small town in Siberia with unlimited ambitions to succeed. Graduating from Siberian State Medical University in Russia with an MD degree, Dr. Gibson spent some time doing research and earned her PhD degree in Medicine. That special blend of small town and big dreams has taken her to the United States. Dr. Gibson learned Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center and shared her knowledge and skills with hundreds of medical students and residents practicing at the Medical University of South Carolina and Emory University. Being in academics pushed her to be a life long learner of medical evidence and stay on top of changes in the healthcare industry.
