NKL Contactlenzen, opgericht in 1974 en gevestigd in Emmen, is als producent van vormvaste contactlenzen marktleider in Nederland. Sinds mei 2006 werkt NKL Contactlenzen samen met Menicon; een Japanse firma die in 30 landen over de wereld actief en toonaangevend is in de ontwikkeling van lensmaterialen, lensontwerpen en contactlensvloeistoffen.
Bij research & development van NKL Contactlenzen werkt men, in nauwe samenwerking met Menicon, permanent aan de ontwikkeling van nieuwe, comfortabelere vormvaste lenzen. Uiteindelijk worden deze lenzen, met behulp van zeer geavanceerde apparatuur, in eigen huis geproduceerd.
In 2002 introduceerde NKL als eerste succesvol de Nachtlens. En in 2006 produceerde NKL met de Daytime de meest comfortabele vormvaste lens van dit moment. Naast de productie van vormvaste lenzen distribueert NKL in Nederland de kwalitatief hoogwaardige Silicone Hydrogel PremiO lenzen en de vloeistoffen van Menicon.
