現代教育研究社以出版優質教材為宗旨，所出版的教科書高達五十科五百多種，俱備幼兒班、幼稚園、小學、中學以至大學預科等教材配套。本社創立於1957年，乃香港歷史悠久的 教科書出版社。四十多年以來，一直配合香港的教育改革和社會文化背景，為推廣本地教育及文化出版事業而努力不懈。
五、六十年代，我們集中出版小學中文教科書及有關教材，計有中國歷史、小學國語、算術及尺牘等。在教育當局致力推廣活動教學之際，本社率先響應，特別將社會、科學、健教三科課本，編撰成活動教學綜合教材，深獲教育界的好評。隨著政府推行九年普及教育政策，我們全面編纂中學教科書，遍及中國語文、文學、普通話、中國歷史、數學、電腦、設計與工藝、工程科學、設計與科技、電子與電學、電工學等科目。同時，我們亦迎合讀者的生活品味，出 版各類課外書籍，包括散文、詩詞、遊記、哲理文化、寓言故事及科學小品等叢書，作為閑暇的益智讀物。
為了推動本港文教事業的發展，本社屢辦展覽會、學術研討會、工作坊等活動，並且誠意出版《現代教育通訊》季刊，全面探討教育專題，闡述教育動態，讓教育工作者及社會人士分享交流。
我們更全力響應資訊科技教育政策，配合學校對多媒體教材的殷切需求，為教師、學生提供多功能、活潑、有效的輔助教材，比如多媒體教學光碟、電子課本、教學網頁資訊等，藉以提升教學效果。
自1997年，本社首先開設「多媒體研教室」，旨在幫助教育工作者熟悉、掌握現代資訊科技，跨向資訊科技教育的嶄新里程。該教室佔地逾千呎，設備先進齊全。各校可借用「多媒體研教室」用作校本培訓；我們更樂於給教師提供資訊科技培訓課程。
邁進千禧新紀元時代，現代教育研究社不斷得到社會各界人士的厚愛、支持，我們定當秉承繼往開來、與時並進的精神，銳意出版多元化的優質教材，肩負起促進「全方位教學」發展的使命。
