MHG Engineering Academy was formed in Mumbai in 1974 by Late Prof M.H.Gokhale,a renowned Professor for Engineering Mechanics & Strength of Materials.He is Father of the current Managing Director Prof. Ms. M. Gokhale.. Prof. M.H. Gokhale was Born in 1934, in Pune in an educated family. His father was teacher in Teacher’s Training College. Right from childhood, MH excelled in academics, drawing & sketching, Handwriting, Literary skills. He was a voracious reader. He passed school scholarship exam with merit. In 1951, then 11th Matriculation exam, he stood 1st in Pune Division Board & 3rd in Sanyukt Maharashtra. He got Ram Ganesh Gadkari Gold medal for securing highest marks in Marathi language Maharashtra state. He completed B.E. Civil from Poona Engineering, in 1957.After Engineering he joined Hindustan Construction Company & was deputed on the construction project of Rihand Dam on the River Renu in U.P.In 1960 he joined BMC in Building Inspection department. In 1964, Out of passion for teaching, he left BMC to join M.H. Saboo Siddique Polytechnic Civil Department as a lecturer. Very soon he became very popular amongst students for Engineering Mechanics , Strength of Materials Subjects& for being the most approachable faculty. He had a knack of making the tough subject simple. A veteran Bollywood Actor Kadar Khan was his student in Saboo Siddique Polytechnic. During his tenure there Mr. Gokhale wrote 2 text books on the abovesaid subjects. His books immediately got recommendation from Mumbai University & Technical Board & they were considered renowned best seller text books for the two subjects. He was fondly refered as MH by his friends &collegues. He also taught few more Civil Engineering Subjects in SBMP, VileParle, Government Polytechnic, Bandra, Bandra school of Architecture. He lateron joined asa faculty & HOD-Civil in Sir J.J. School of Architecture & was in service till 1990 when he passed away.
