MIGRATION MACHT GESELLSCHAFT ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein, den es seit 1988 gibt und der bis 2020 den Namen „Interkulturelles Forum“ trug.
Die Umbenennung unseres Vereins liegt in einem Verständnis von einer durch MIGRATION geprägten GESELLSCHAFT begründet. Basierend auf diesem Verständnis verstehen wir auch München als eine durch Migration geprägte Stadt. Den in Migrationsgesellschaften stattfindenden Inklusions- und Exklusionsmechanismen kann nur dann ausreichend begegnet werden, wenn dem Faktor MACHT eine zentrale Bedeutung beigemessen wird.
Als Verein, der als gestaltender Teil der durch MIGRATION geprägten GESELLSCHAFT etwas MACHT, setzen wir uns deshalb für eine inklusive(re) Stadtgesellschaft ein, in der es allen Münchner*innen möglich ist, am gesellschaftlichen Leben gleichberechtigt teilzuhaben.
Bedingt durch ein weites Verständnis von Inklusion, das unserer Arbeit zugrunde liegt, zielen unsere Angebote somit fortwährend auf die Verringerung verschiedener Diskriminierungsformen sowie deren Ineinanderwirken ab, richten sich jedoch insbesondere an Münchner*innen, die auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen Rassismus erfahren.
MIGRATION MACHT GESELLSCHAFT verfolgt dieses Ziel mittels der folgenden Angebote:
- Persönliche Beratung von Menschen mit Migrationsbiographien in unterschiedlichen Bereichen
- Beratung zu aufenthalts- und asylrechtlichen Fragen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Rechtshilfe München e.V.
- Organisation von Veranstaltungen zu gesellschaftspolitischen Themen, globalen ebenso wie lokalen (Seminare, Ausstellungen, Lesungen, Musik u.v.m.)
Migration macht Gesellschaft e.V. wird durch das Sozialreferat – Amt für Wohnen und Migration der Landeshauptstadt München gefördert.
