The Microfinance Agricultural Learning and Development Center Limited (MLDC) is the capacity-building vehicle for the Nigerian Microfinance sector. The Microfinance Agricultural Learning and Development Centre (MLDC) is envisioned as a resource centre for all microfinance and agricultural institutions and their stakeholders in Nigeria and beyond (as it matures). Some key considerations are listed below:
• There is no such institution that caters to the specific training needs of microfinance institutions in Nigeria, also the exponential growth and role of microfinance in macro-economic development created an urgent need for capacity development.
• Some development partners have also had intervention programmes to address the skill gaps in the industry whereby these initiatives are not substantially coordinated to achieve synergic effect and impact.
