Mobilize Art wants to make original art and limited edition art by artists from the top US art and design schools available - primarily for under $100 apiece.
Why is this important? Art’s everywhere… in homes, offices, restaurants, hospitals, dorm-rooms. Most people can't afford original art today - which sells for hundreds or thousands of dollars - so they settle for generic prints or posters. But it's rare that a mass-produced print or poster reflects your tastes, style, personality (it definitely doesn't reflect your originality)... and isn't that what art's supposed to be?!
Many talented artists and designers (fashion designers, architects, transportation designers, industrial designers, costume designers, etc.) are joining us to help change this.
Why? Artists and designers create many gorgeous works of art (finished pieces, studies, models, illustrations). They think to sell some of their 'best', finished pieces for hundreds or thousands of dollars, but the majority of the good work they create is given to friends and family, stored in boxes under the bed / in the closet, or thrown away. Artists and designers want to share these pieces with buyers who will appreciate and enjoy them.
And, by the way, it hurts artists to think that mass-produced prints and posters from big-box stores, etc. are what the average person in America has on their walls. They want more people to experience the pleasure of owning good, original art!
