Het idee om een stichting voor modellen op te zetten komt voort uit persoonlijke ervaringen van de oprichter/voorzitter (17 jaar professioneel model) en ervaringen van modellen waar hij mee heeft samengewerkt. Momenteel bestaat er geen concrete CAO voor modellen, om deze is de ervaring dat veel modellenbureaus/fotografen/reclamebureaus de wetten regelmatig overtreden.
Omdat modellenwerk onder de vrije beroepen valt zijn er ook geen directe hulpinstanties om de modellen te helpen met conflicten of problemen. Om deze reden worden modellen vaak gedupeerd in hun werkzaamheden. Aangezien hij en mede-modellen (vrienden/kennissen) conflicten hebben gehad in de modellenbranche, waarbij juridische stappen zijn ondernomen tegen modellenbureaus, wil hij er middels “De Modellenstichting” voor zorgen dat dit soort situaties voor alle modellen tot het verleden behoren. In de doelstellingen worden de conflicten waar modellen mee te maken kunnen krijgen nog eens goed aan het licht gebracht.
Uiteindelijk zal naast de stichting een vakbond worden opgericht, waarbij modellen lid kunnen worden om nog verder te beschermd te worden. Via onze nieuwsbrief zullen wij laten weten wat deze toekomstige vakbond exact voor het model kan betekenen.
