Founded by Jordan Schmidt Modern Mentality was born out of adversity and tragic loss. Jordan was born in 1992, to Samoan and Maori parents. At the tender age of 5 experienced the tragic loss of his Father to suicide, followed some 10 years later by the Murder of his older brother Dylan at a party. With the loss and grief, Jordan spiralled into a dark place, leaving behind his dream of becoming a Professional Rugby Player and at the age of 15 was on a self destruct mission. Excessive drinking and partying, losing all sense of purpose and direction. Feeling lost and overwhelmed with no clear path ahead. Jordan had abandoned his love of Rugby until his Step Father Eric stepped in, pulling him away from a House party and encouraging him to try out for the U18 Victorian State team. Being succesful, life started to take on meaning and purpose. This was a pivotal moment for Jordan. He understands that not everyone is lucky enough to have strong role models to oversee their development. Modern Mentality has grown as a Tribute to Jordans' Father and Brother and as an emphasis of the importance of strong foundations and role models in Life Development. Fran and Jordan met through their mutual love of Rugby, Fran as President of Power House RUFC in Melbourne where Jordan is still a player. They have know each other for over 12 years. It soon became apparent that the Mission of Modern Mentality strongly aligned with the Values of IEP and the companies were merged. Fran is a Business owner and Trainer of NLP, Time Line Therapy and holds a Diploma in counselling. Fran is a Mother of 4 and a Cancer survivor. The collaboration between Fran & Jordan has created powerful programmes, based on sound psychological learnings. Modern Mentality creates the Foundation to reconstruct lives through the 6 pillars, Mind, Body, Purpose, Family, Relationships and Finance delivered both in person and Hybrid at Headquarters in White St South Melbourne.
