In 1909 begon Fré Morres in een klein pand in het centrum van Hulst, aan de grens met België, een kleine meubelzaak. Eind jaren 60 verhuisde het bedrijf naar het industrieterrein Tol, aan de rand van het historische, meest Vlaamse stadje van Nederland.
Morres bracht al vroeg een eigen catalogus uit en was één van de eerste woonwinkels met een webshop en zondagsopening. In 2009 kwam het bedrijf in handen van De Mandemakers Groep, één van de grootste ondernemingen op het gebied van woninginterieur. Vandaag de dag is Morres met recht uitgegroeid tot het grootste en meest vernieuwende woonwarenhuis.
