We want to Move the World Move Academy was founded due to the experience and knowledge gained over 30 years in the fitness industry. The Fitness industry has been very successful since the 1980’s in getting a larger percentage of people involved in some type of structured exercise program. The proliferation of exercise facilities and fitness businesses has ensured that there is capacity to service a much larger proportion of the community. What we find now is the usage of those facilities and businesses are well under capacity which is an amazing opportunity that has been identified by the founders of Move Academy. Move Academy identifies exercise and movement as being one essential part of the overall Health and Wellness of an individual. The only way to increase the percentage of individuals committing to a regular movement/exercise program is to address the individual's’ overall lifestyle which will identify the reasons why committing to a program has been a challenge in the past. The essential skills and tools delivered by graduates of the Move Academy lifestyle coaching program is the Lifestyle Consultation process. Lifestyle Consultation is a proven structured model that ensures adherence to a regular exercise/movement program when it is implemented in conjunction with regard to the seven pillars of an individuals’ Health and Wellness. For an individual to achieve higher levels of happiness or satisfaction in their lives they have to achieve balance between these 7 pillars: 1. Physical 2. Emotional 3. Intellectual 4. Environmental 5. Spiritual 6. Occupational 7. Social The Lifestyle Consulting process identifies the current status of the 7 pillars in an individual's’ life and then works with the client to make changes to restore that balance. The process is a gradual one and we believe changes can only be achieved with a commitment of at least a 12 week time frame.
