Medicinal Plants and Drugs Research Institute at Shahid Beheshti University was founded in 1999 after UNIDO recognized Iran as a land with natural resources and great biodiversity in the Middle East in 1997. This research institute, with the related departments, has great monitoring of the country's medicinal plants and the best and most specialized herbarium of medicinal plants in the country. On the other hand, it is possible to perform various types of chemical analysis experiments and study the biological activity of various materials, as well as the production of natural compounds using technical knowledge and appropriate facilities in the laboratory and semi-industrial scales. Medicinal Plants and Drugs Research Institute announces its readiness for any kind of cooperation in academic, research, and industrial frameworks inside and outside the country.
پژوهشکده گیاهان و مواد اولیه دارویی دانشگاه شهید بهشتی در سال 1378و پس از انتخاب ایران توسط "یونیدو" بعنوان سرزمینی با منابع طبیعی و تنوع زیاد زیستی در منطقه خاورمیانه در سال 1376، آغاز به کار کرد. این پژوهشکده با برخورداری از واحدهای مرتبط، نظارت بسیار خوبی بر گیاهان دارویی کشور داشته و بهترین و تخصصی ترین هرباریوم گیاهان دارویی در کشور را داراست. از طرفی انجام انواع آزمایشهای آنالیز شیمیایی و بررسی فعالیت بیولوژیکی مواد مختلف و همچنین تولید ترکیبات طبیعی با استفاده از دانش فنی و امکانات مناسب در مقیاسهای آزمایشگاهی و نیمه صنعتی امکان پذیر است. پژوهشکده گیاهان و مواد اولیه دارویی آمادگی خود را جهت هرگونه همکاری در چارچوب های دانشگاهی، پژوهشی و صنعتی با بخشهای مختلف داخل و خارج از کشور اعلام می دارد.
