Our beautiful and enriching journey started with a chance visit to Palakkad where we witnessed the Kumbarans – traditional pot makers - who struggled to make ends meet, in spite of the stunning array of earthenware they produced.
Having grown up there, Reshma knew the tremendous natural health benefits of cooking with earthen pots, an old age concept which got diminished over time. She resolved to revive this incredibly healthy way of cooking while providing much-needed help to earthenware makers and as well as the other village artisans across the country. Mudkart is an effort to bind together health and sustainability, one earthen pot at a time.
