The prevailing paradigm of resource utilisation is linear: extraction, transformation, use, and disposal. But a shift is happening towards a circular economy (CE), mimicking nature's cyclical use of resources. However, CE needs to consider social and cultural sustainability and social change. This circularity should permeate society, prioritizing social well-being.
To effect this shift, collaboration among various societal sectors is needed, fostering an environment for the evolution of the Circular Society. This shift challenges dominant organizational structures, knowledge systems, values, and goals, realigning them with circularity principles.
Our project, Mycelium Network, inspired by nature's efficient resource management, aims to develop tools facilitating individuals and groups to act similarly. Currently, we focus on My-Chance, a globally accessible prize bond system. My-Chance refines the operation of such a system and enhances the user experience with collectible NFTs, providing repeated lottery entry and ownership of collectibles without market risk downside. Through collective action, My-Chance participants fundraise without making donations.
We're also developing a decentralized Credit Union using Aave’s credit delegation mechanisms to offer under-collateralized loans based on decentralized mechanics and interpersonal relationships.
Our long-term goal is developing tools promoting responsible collective action, combating apathy, inviting participation, and focusing on self-actualization and environmental growth. Trust minimized decentralized services are crucial in achieving this. Transitioning to a fully digital economy, we have the opportunity to abandon outdated practices, create more effective, transparent financial systems, incorporate sustainable collective action ethos within these structures, and play a part in a sustainable, fruitful world.
