Die Münchner Aids-Hilfe wurde 1984 als Reaktion auf die tödliche Immunschwächekrankheit Aids gegründet. Heute ist sie viel mehr als „nur“ ein Angebot für HIV-Positive und Aids-Kranke. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sie sich vom engagierten Selbsthilfeverein zu einem unverzichtbaren Bestandteil des Münchner Sozial- und Gesundheitswesens entwickelt. Doch trotz aller Professionalisierung sind die Ursprünge der Münchner Aids-Hilfe bis heute fest in ihrer DNA verwurzelt.
