This device can be relevant to in vitro/point-of-care (POC) diagnostic market. POC market was $13.7 billion in 2010 and is expected to grow at 8-9% in next 5 years. Our technique can identify a few CTCs in 1 ml sample of blood, which can be drawn during annual physical check-up. This is bound to capture major share of the next generation cancer diagnostics market.
Research conducted so far has identified processes that achieve the goal of identifying CTCs based on over expression of specific surface-based receptors. A number of publications and Intellectual Property has been produced.
