Mit der Annahme der Initiative verbleiben Unternehmer:innen weniger Ressourcen zur Innovationsförderung oder der Schaffung neuer Arbeitsplätze und eine Übertragung der über viele Jahre aufgebauten Firmensubstanz im Rahmen einer Nachfolgelösung wird quasi verunmöglicht. Der Ansporn für eine unternehmerische Tätigkeit sinkt.
Mit der 99%-Initiative wird ein bedeutender Teil des Erlöses aus dem Verkauf eines Startups wegbesteuert. Der Anreiz für Gründer:innen in der Schweiz zu investieren nimmt dadurch ab, was zu einer massiven Schwächung des Innovationsstandorts Schweiz führt. Verliert der Innovationsstandort Schweiz an Attraktivität, reduzieren sich die ausländischen und inländischen Investitionen und Arbeitsplätze gehen verloren.
