As young undergraduate students, we (the founders of NetworkU) have recently completed our countless applications and decision-making process involved with the transition into university. Through our experience, we understand the immense stress that secondary school students may be facing during their transition.
With the new COVID-19 social distancing policies, many critical student support services, resources, and events have either been cancelled or discontinued. We recognize that this particular situation may amplify the stresses involved with the transitioning process for current students to be stressed, nervous, and confused. Without the necessary support systems in place, we feel that it is our duty to support the next generation of students.
To alleviate the lack of guidance services at this time, we pondered on a new idea. What if we could create a network in which transition students were able to connect with current undergraduate students of universities and programs of their choice? Today, the NetworkU initiative represents our efforts in achieving this goal.
