De NEW-ttt bestaat uit twee pijlers. Pijler 1 richt zich op de valorisatie van onderzoek door de oprichting van (spin-off) bedrijven. Pijler 2 richt zich op de financiering van startups in een vroege fase, gevestigd in Nederland. De activiteiten in pijler 1 richten zich op:
- Het breed scouten van veelbelovende starters met goede innovaties, ook buiten de onderzoeksprogramma’s van de betrokken kennisinstellingen;
- Het benutten van verschillende IP-modellen;
- Het creëren van een incubatieprogramma gericht op NEW;
- Het inzetten van 11 unieke state-of-the-art validatiefaciliteiten voor nieuwe technologieën en de mogelijkheden voor jonge ondernemers om validatietests uit te voeren;
- Het versterken en uitbreiden van open innovatiegemeenschappen.
