Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality and environmental value.
Our vision is to address the current problem in the beer industry related to food waste by reusing their by-product that is rich in protein, natural fibers, fat and carbohydrates to create a superfood suitable for human and animal consumption.
NextGrain came up with a solution to reduce waste, and convert it from problem to resource. By using beer spent grain, we open up the potential to use it as a superfood in human and animal consumption. Our solution also turns waste into resource and contributes to lessening the total amount of waste.
NextGrain’s vision is to reduce waste by upcycling BSG. Because of its high protein content, it can successfully be used in flour form in pastries, bread, waffles, pancakes, muffins and etc. Moreover, it can be incorporated into a cereal mix and add nutritious value to it. We also plan to enter the fitness industry and use BSG in protein mixes in powder form and protein bars.
Our product is a great option for companies that are interested to provide a premium product to their customers at an affordable price while lowering their carbon footprint.
It’s great for people who support environmentally friendly and sustainable companies, individuals with certain dietary restrictions and preference such as diabetics, gluten intolerant, keto and those who lead a healthy and fit life and want to add a nutritious product to their diet.
Lastly, NextGrain is committed to participating in a circular economy and building a long-lasting sustainable practice.
Our CEO’s message: “NextGrain wants to provide our clients with healthier options through our vision to promote sustainable production and consumption while recovering and repurposing our food waste.”
