The National Hillel Basketball Tournament (NHBT) was founded in 2010 to bring Jewish students together around the inclusive and encompassing game of basketball. Solely organized by a board of motivated and dedicated students, what began as a small event has quickly developed into one of the largest collegiate gatherings of Jewish students in the country. Now in its 12th year, this non-profit initiative, annually housed at the University of Maryland, attracts hundreds of participants from across the United States and Canada. Players and fans also participate in various off-the-court programs including a 600-person Friday night dinner, 200-person Shabbat lunch, keynote speakers, and exciting weekend events. NHBT is more than just a weekend of excitement and basketball. Our tournament builds friendships, introduces students to new ideas and
instills a passion for the Jewish community.
