My YLAC fellowship team is campaigning to raise awareness of child sexual abuse. From POCSO to creative narratives, we are prepared to heal the invisible scars of sexual abuse against children. To understand the gravity: Child Sexual Abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level: - In 90% of sexual assault cases, the perpetrator is a family member. - ⁠Nearly 40% of the children who suffer have to deal with trauma afterward. - ⁠95% of abuse can be prevented through the right kind of education. Child Sexual Abuse is a horrifying problem that affects the lives of billions of people: we must work toward spreading awareness and helping survivors talk about their experiences. Nidar is a campaign that aims to do this through mediums of art, poetry, information, and enactments. Encourage yourself, and your peers to reach out to us, cite opinions, provide narratives, and celebrate the fluidity of advocacy through a platter of art forms.
