Het Nederlands Kenniscentrum Chronische Vermoeidheid (NKCV) is een GGZ-instelling die nauw samenwerkt met het VUmc op gebied van diagnostiek en behandeling van chronische vermoeidheid. In de behandeling ligt de nadruk op cognitieve gedragstherapie. Het NKCV behandelt patiënten met een chronische ziekte en patiënten die kanker hebben gehad en ernstig vermoeid zijn. Daarnaast worden er ook patiënten behandeld zonder dat er een bekende somatische oorzaak van de moeheid is, hierbij gaat het om het zogenaamde Chronische Vermoeidheidssyndroom (CVS/ME).
Ook doet het NKCV wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar de oorzaken van chronische vermoeidheid, ontwikkelt het nieuwe behandelingen en probeert het te ontdekken hoe behandelingen voor chronische vermoeidheid werken. In het onderzoek wordt intensief samengewerkt met andere afdelingen van het AMC/VUmc en onderzoeksinstituten binnen en buiten Nederland.
