NL-ATSA is een vereniging die zich inzet voor de preventie van zedendelicten. De vereniging richt zich daarbij zowel op primaire preventie door middel van voorlichting en hulpverlening aan potentiële plegers en slachtoffers als op secundaire en tertiaire preventie door middel van risicotaxatie en behandeling van bekende plegers.
NL-ATSA stelt zich ten doel internationale kennis en ervaring op het gebied van zedendelicten en zedendelinquenten te verspreiden in Nederlandstalig gebied, zowel in Nederland als in België. Dit doet zij door middel van het organiseren van congressen, symposia, trainingen, werk- en adviesgroepen en het onderhouden van een website. Daarnaast stimuleert NL-ATSA de terugkoppeling van kennis en ervaring die is opgebouwd in Nederlandstalig gebied naar het internationale veld, door middel van presentaties en workshops op internationale congressen en deelname aan internationale samenwerkingsverbanden.
NL-ATSA is gelieerd aan de Internationale ATSA (Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers) en vormt daarvan een ‘chapter’.
