Hi, my name is Caro. NOMONOHO is just the name I use for freelance work. I'm a designer/photographer with over 6 years of experience, based in Vancouver, BC. I offer my services to small/local businesses like coffee shops, restaurants, wineries, etc. I also love working with new brands.
When I was in university in 2014, I got my first design gig, making menus and menu photos for a sushi restaurant in my hometown. At the moment it was difficult for me to juggle school and work. One day, I was so stressed due to the lack of personal time, to the point of wanting to give up. Then, one of my friends told me: "just keep going, NO MONEY, NO HONEY ''. I found that statement true, and a bit funny, as I had only heard that phrase coming from sex workers in movies. After that, the phrase became my personal mantra, to the point that I started using NO MONEY NO HONEY as my freelance designer name.
As materialistic as the phrase might sound, it made me feel empowered by the idea of hard work and reaching my goals, so the name stuck with me. Now, I only use the short version of it, but the feeling of empowerment is still there.
