The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers is, “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.”
The Greater Philadelphia Professionals Chapter (GPPC) was chartered in February 198 and since its inception, the chapter has developed annual programs that support the minority and professional communities in the Philadelphia area. The chapter provides a variety of technical and professional seminars, performs student outreach activities, hosts community service events, and awards scholarships to college students pursuing degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics). GPPC is part of Region 2 and works closely with the collegiate chapters in Region 2 that comprise the “Danger Zone” (Southeastern Pennsylvania & Delaware).
