Wir sind eine Non-Profit-Organisation, die 2012 von der ÖGKJ (Öst. Gesellschaft für Kinder- und Jugendheilkunde) gegründet wurde, und agieren ausschließlich zum Wohle der Kindergesundheit.
OKIDS ist die einzige österreichische Institution für Kinderarzneiforschung, die mit breiter Vernetzung im In- und Ausland die Durchführung von klinischen Studien mit Kindern und Jugendlichen koordiniert.
Wir bieten ein in Österreich einzigartiges Koordinierungszentrum für die Erstellung klinischer Arzneimittelstudien zur Verbesserung kindergerechter Arzneimittel an. Wir sind eine Non-Profit-Organisation und agieren ausschließlich zum Wohle der Forschung.
Unsere Mission ist es, Arzneimittel für Babys, Kinder und Jugendliche sicherer und wirksamer zu machen, denn je kranker und jünger Kinder sind, desto weniger geprüfte und zugelassene Medikamente stehen für ihre Behandlung zur Verfügung. Insbesondere bei sehr seltenen Krankheitsbildern ist ein Großteil der derzeit bei Kindern eingesetzten Medikamente nie an Kindern geprüft worden und nicht für Kinder zugelassen.
