OlfaGuard (https://www.olfaguard.com/) is a bio-nanotech startup in food safety developing an E-nose capable of smelling pathogens on food. Customer Problem & Target Market: The food industry needs to detect pathogens on food in a fast and affordable manner. The current solutions are time consuming and needs complicated Lab procedures. The food safety testing market reached 10.5 billion $ in 2014 and will worth 17.16 billion by 2021 with a with a five year compound annual growth (CAGR) of 5.3%. The pathogen detection segment in the food safety testing market is little more than 38% of that market. Product & Service: OlfaGuard will offer an E-nose that is specific-pathogen targeted and that doesn't need a professional personal nor a Lab. The E-nose can deliver accurate high specificity results in matter of minutes and in low cost. Our product helps prevent food poisoning. OlfaGuard will be targeting four segments of the food supply chain: slaughter houses\factories, food transport, food retailers, and restaurants\fast food. Competitors: The competitors utilize different technologies that ranges from traditional culture methods which is affordable but time consuming (72-96 hours) to methods for rapid detection mainly real time PCR which is fast but expensive.
