Omstand, is een organisatie voor hedendaagse beeldende kunst, actief vanaf 2015 en van groot belang voor talentontwikkeling van kunstenaars en curatoren.
We zijn een culturele broedplaats en presentatie-instelling zonder vaste collectie en hebben eigen tentoonstellingsruimtes in en rondom de voormalige elektriciteitsfabriek aan de Van Oldenbarneveldtstraat, vlakbij het centrum van Arnhem. Omstand beschikt daar over ruim 150 m2 aan vloeroppervlak, verdeeld over verschillende ruimtes en verdeeld over schillende panden die allemaal bij elkaar in de buurt staan.
We organiseren tentoonstellingen, waarbij een visueel, energiek spanningsveld tussen de toeschouwers en de kunst(enaar) voorop staat. Omstand wil van kunstenaars niet alleen het werk tonen, maar de kunstenaar een zo breed mogelijke rol laten spelen: als curator, onderzoeker, theoreticus, ontwerper, criticus, etc. Het is een persoonlijk traject tussen de kunstenaar, de ruimtes van Omstand en de begeleiders van Omstand.
