OncoZON is het oncologie netwerk van negen ziekenhuizen (Anna Ziekenhuis, Catharina Ziekenhuis, Elkerliek Ziekenhuis, Laurentius, Maastricht UMC+, Máxima Medisch Centrum, SJG Weert, VieCuri, Zuyderland) en één radiotherapeutisch instituut (Maastro) in de regio Zuidoost-Nederland. Een professioneel netwerk van instellingen die de handen ineen hebben geslagen om in deze regio de best mogelijke zorg op het gebied van kanker te bieden. Uniek is dat alle instellingen contractueel hebben vastgelegd dezelfde procedures en werkwijzen te volgen. Zo weet de patiënt dat hij exact dezelfde topzorg krijgt in iedere instelling van het netwerk.
OncoZON zorgt ervoor dat iedereen in de regio Zuidoost-Nederland de best mogelijke behandeling ontvangt bij iedere vorm van kanker. Met aandacht voor de mens achter de patiënt. En met behoud van het hoogst mogelijke leefcomfort en de best mogelijke bescherming van lichaamsfuncties, denkvermogen en sociaal leven.
OncoZON wil de oncologische zorg verbeteren door het maken van gezamenlijke protocollen, het opstellen en delen van best practices en het bespreken van uitkomstmaten.
OncoZON probeert in principe iedere patiënt in zijn eigen instelling te behandelen. Alleen als het nodig is, dragen wij de patiënt tijdelijk over naar een ander ziekenhuis. Waar hij de specialistische zorg ontvangt die hij nodig heeft.
