Melody is an open source content management and publishing system derived from the popular blogging tool Movable Type. Melody is for those who find value in belonging to, supporting and contributing to a community of helpful, passionate and devoted users, but it is also for people who want a secure, proven and high quality publishing environment for their personal web site or their business. The Open Melody Software Group ("OMSG") is a US (California State) non-profit being incorporated* to: Protect the intellectual property of the Melody code base, tools, and libraries while offering it for use under an open source license. Hold in the trust all of the contributions made by the community and ensures that those contributions serve the public benefit and interests of the Melody community's interest. Support the greater Melody and Movable Type communities through through events, and grants, and to provide essential technical, legal and organizational infrastructure for the Melody project and the community as a whole.
