Individuals releasing back to their communities are in need of securing employment. Opportunity Oregon's programs are designed to provide pre-release and post-release services through in-prison outreach, educating employers on the benefits of hiring justice-involved individuals and executing a commitment contract to hiring them. There are 5 main components to our programming. Outreach & Peer Mentorship - Bring awareness of Opportunity Oregon services and incentivize changed behavior patterns while in prison through sharing lived experience of rehabilitation. Engage and coordinate bringing employer representatives into prison to speak about their interest in hiring them when they get out. Education & Awareness - Establishing relationships with employers to educate them on the benefits of hiring justice involved individuals. Business Development Services - Contracting with employers who are willing to hire justice involved individuals. Career Placement - Facilitate scheduling job interviews with contracted employers. Partnerships - Collaborate with community partners to support the planning, execution and impact on shared mission.
