Orange Makers is a network of makers. We bring together makers to make, create and interact: to play, build and make new things and experiences.
At the heart of Orange Makers are three initiatives: a festival ”Made”, a space “Orange Makerspace” and a kids programme “Made by Kids”.
WHY ORANGE MAKERS?
We stand in the middle of an exciting technological development.
Complex technology, such as 3D printers and scanners have become accessible and affordable for regular people.
We are approaching a day where whomever can create their own products and designs independent of commercial, costly and lengthy production processes.
Like we have experienced with the Internet’s influence on the music industry, with open source sharing and crowdsourcing, we are now facing a potentially similar shift in the production of physical products. Gradually, more and more are able to draw or download free designs online and to print their own products.

The technological advancements have contributed to putting makers in the center of a new tendency where do-it-yourself projects are applauded, shared and distributed online. Not only those within technology. To be a geek, technician, mechanic, gardener or carpenter who masters practical skills and are able to create and build their own products and designs, is – and should be! – increasingly associated with great strength, power and respect.
Orange Makers is powered by Orange Innovation. The Innovation Unit at the Roskilde Festival group. Orange Innovation is brought into this world to transform experience, creative powers and good energy from Roskilde Festival into new initiatives, products and events
