Founded by brothers Shaun and Craig from London and of Jamaican descent, they started Caradise ‘Original Flava’ in March 2016.
They created easy step-by-step Caribbean food recipe videos online, teaching people how to cook authentic & modern Caribbean food with easy & energetic guides. Their passion was inspired from their Mother and Grandmother’s mouth watering cooking and love for food grew from eating to cooking and adding their own twist to the traditional dishes of the Caribbean.
Now, Original Flava are the go-to platform for anyone wanting to learn how to cook Caribbean food and have amassed a loyal, engaged community of 600,000+ online followers and achieved over 90 million video views.
With a popular self-published book by themselves in 2017, which became a No.1 bestseller on Amazon, and another No.1 best-selling cookbook released in 2019 and published by Bloomsbury Publishing, these brothers are keen to recreate this success and launch another groundbreaking cookbook very soon.
Craig and Shaun have worked with a variety of brands and companies on exciting campaigns including American Express, BBC, ITV, Le Creuset, Wray and Nephew and many more. They have also hosted fun, corporate cookalongs for companies such as Zoom, Nike and Barclays. These virtual cookalongs are great for bringing teams together through food where they can learn about the history of Jamaican food and stories behind the dishes in a fun, engaging and educational way.
Community and giving back is crucial for Original Flava which is why they aim to inspire other young people by holding workshops at schools and are also launching their own mentorship scheme to give back to underrepresented chefs.
