ODISHA STATE CASHEW DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED. is a state-owned company based out of Orissa, India. It was established in the year of 1979 with the main objective to develop land, raising cashew plantations and other suitable species, render technical guidance and assistance to cashew growers and make available of good planting materials. Right now it is holding the largest number of cashew plantation area state wise in India. And because of this corporation Odisha is the 3rd largest producer of Cashew. In the year of 1993 the OSCDC was declared as the Nodal Agency for the development of cashew in the state. Since then, The Corporation has taken viable steps to increase the area under cashew plantation by organizing various awareness campaigns such as farmers training, field days, seminars and exhibitions etc.
OSCDC Ltd. is not only helping just Odisha to develop its cashew cultivation but also the neighboring states of Odisha. Also, the farmers, NGOs, PSUs and WSHGs purchase highly productive cashew grafts directly from the nurseries of the corporation. OSCDC has established 20 clonal nurseries with a capacity to produce around 40 lakh cashew grafts annually. These nurseries are equipped with modern technologies and good number of well trained and experienced employees. Also the Professors and scientists of OUAT University and also the researchers from all over India are in constant touch with the nurseries for regular upgradation of the techniques and technologies in cashew cultivation. You can find the undermentioned 11 varieties of cashew graft produced at these nurseries. They are solely curated for the various climates and soil categories available in the eastern side of India.
