De osteopatische therapie bekijkt een klacht holistisch. Ook wel vanuit het idee dat alles in het lichaam samenhangt. Het vertrekpunt van de therapie is uw klacht, maar als osteopaten zijn wij ervan bewust dat de verklaring van de klacht niet altijd lokaal hoeft te zijn.

Als je jezelf al teveel aangepast hebt zal herstel iets langer duren en kan er eventueel een chronische klacht ontstaan. Vaak is een exacte oorzaak voor dit chronisch worden niet meer aan te wijzen en wordt een onderliggende aandoening door een medisch specialist uitgesloten.
Juist in dit soort situaties kan een totaalaanpak ondersteunend zijn bij het verlichten van de klacht. Wij proberen een impressie te krijgen van uw beweeglijkheid, bloedcirculatie, ademhaling, voeding, weerstand, het functioneren van uw zenuwstelsel en uw denkwijzen.

Als osteopaat behandelen wij met name de beweeglijkheid van een weefsel dat overal terug te vinden is in het lichaam, namelijk het bindweefsel. Dit bindweefsel omhult alle structuren en organen van het lichaam. Door beweeglijkheid te herstellen hopen wij uw zelf herstellend vermogen aan te spreken en hiermee uw klacht te verlichten.
