De Vereniging Oud Argo is in 1935 opgericht als oud-ledenvereniging van de Wageningsche Studenten Roeivereeniging Argo. Oud Argo stelt zich ten doel om:
* Ervaringen en contacten te bundelen, om daarmee de huidige Argo-generatie terzijde te staan. Vooral met de steeds kortere studieduur is continuïteit voor de vereniging belangrijker dan ooit.
* Contacten tussen oudleden onderling en met Argo te bevorderen. Hiertoe wordt jaarlijks een oudledendag met ledenvergadering georganiseerd. Ook treffen veel leden elkaar op de jaarlijkse Argo Sprintwedstrijden. Deze evenementen worden aangekondigd in het halfjaarlijks orgaan van Oud Argo, de Argonautika. Daarin wordt elk oud-lid op de hoogte gebracht van het reilen en roeien van Argo en Oud Argo.
* Argo financiëel te ondersteunen, vooral voor zaken en activiteiten die buiten de normale begroting van de W.S.R. vallen. Bovendien heeft de ondersteuning van de trainingen en uitzending van jonge en veelbelovende roeiers en ploegen naar het buitenland een hoge prioriteit.
