The ‘Offshore Wind Infrastructure Application Lab’ (OWI-Lab) is a R&D initiative which aims to initiate and support innovation projects concerning offshore wind energy. The project itself aims to increase the reliability and efficiency of offshore wind farms by investing in test and monitoring equipment that can help the industry in reaching these goals.
OWI-Lab offers independent test and monitoring services to local and European companies based on high-tech infrastructure. Next to that, OWI-Lab can support, partner and contribute to Innovation projects and Shared R&D project in the field of offshore wind energy from concept to implementation.
Our independent test facility with large climatic test chamber focusses on (extreme) temperarature testing of large and heavy wind turbine components in cold and hot settings ranging from -60°C to +60°C. Next to this, OWI-lab offers monitoring hardware and software for offshore wind turbine field measurements. This monitoring equipment can be used to feed R&D projects and/or gain insights in O&M topics. Apart from the high-tech test and monitoring infrastructure and its corresponding services, OWI-Lab can also contribute in setting up innovation projects and shared R&D projects in the field of offshore wind energy.
