Established in 2008, P.H.O.E.B.E is an Ipswich-based registered charity that offers specialist advice, information, casework, advocacy and support and counselling services to black and ethnic minority women and children. P.H.O.E.B.E (Promotion of Health, Opportunity, Equality, Benevolence and Empowerment) promotes greater a greater number of black and ethnic minority women and children to receive domestic abuse support and counselling services across Suffolk. Our women's charity was formerly known as the Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre HELP FOR BME WOMEN FLEEING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE At PHOEBE we educate women about their rights within an abusive relationship and support women to live free from violence by assisting them to access safe temporary accommodation, help to apply for visas in their own name with the Home Office, domestic violence counselling, help within the courts and support to resettle and live independent lives. FREE LEGAL ADVICE FOR WOMEN PHOEBE offers free surgeries for all women who need legal advice on family law matters, such as those facing separation, wanting to start divorce proceedings, child contact arrangements or other family law difficulties. ENGLISH CLASSES We offer women-only English classes at Pre-entry, E1, E2 and E3 levels in groups of up to 10 students. Registration costs £5 per term, plus £1.50 per lesson WOMEN'S CENTRE IN ZIMBABWE P.H.O.E.B.E. runs the only Women’s Wellness and Recovery Centre in Zimbabwe. P.H.O.E.B.E Zimbabwe is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and paid staff, with a common goal to promote health, empower, educate and connect women who struggle with psychosocial problems, such as depression and anxiety.
