I created five Raw Arts Festivals between 2004 and 2008, co-organizing two with the New York Arts magazine. The 2005 festival was one of Londons largest non mainstream events with over 100 artists from 12 countries.
I have exhibited my paintings extensively (NY, LA, London, Spain, Italy, China, Vietnam, Germany) and have been featured in many publications, etc. I was an artist in residence in Beijing for a month in 2008 and exhibited at the 9th Beijing International Art Biennale held in 2021. I have exhibited twice with the Lotus Gallery in Ho Chi Minh.
I have combined Art and Technology my whole life to create Art Festivals, run a company, create teaching resources, and pioneer the digital collage painting technique, etc. I do all of my own tech - as seen on my website: PiersMidwinter.com
I began exploring digital collage paintings in 2019. Since then, I have used distortion, created paintings with two distinctly different halves, etc. You can find my portfolio on Instagram.
Whilst at Middlesex University, I won the University prize for “excellence in the local community” and at Art College, I won a travel prize.
